Why We Built This Site
Georgia provides several public access routes, but no single office owns every part of a criminal history. The Jackson County Sheriff creates sheriff reports and jail booking records; the Clerk of Courts preserves filed charges, dockets, judgments, and dispositions. GCIC maintains the statewide criminal-history repository, while the Georgia Department of Corrections and Georgia Sex Offender Registry answer different custody and registration questions. The site brings the verified contacts, official search links, costs, and request procedures for those separate custodians into one reference.
What You Will Find Here
- Agency contacts: verified routes to Jackson County's sheriff, jail, clerk, and court offices
- Record guides: practical steps for searching and reading criminal court cases
- Official checks: the distinction between Georgia Felon Search, a fuller GCIC history, and GAPS fingerprint processing
- Record restriction: how Georgia restriction and separate court-record sealing address different copies of a record
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site with no affiliation to a Georgia court, police department, sheriff, county office, or state agency. Those boundaries mean:
- We cannot run an official background check or pull a criminal record for anyone
- We cannot submit record-restriction petitions, sealing motions, or public-record requests for a visitor
- We cannot issue certified copies of any criminal record, court document, or rap sheet
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific charge or case applies to you
- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, or address listed on this site is current right now
An official copy must come from its custodian, such as the Jackson County Clerk, the sheriff, or GBI/GCIC. This site can identify that source but cannot issue the document.
Search Partners
Outside providers power search boxes found on some pages. They control their services, results, prices, and account terms. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may generate a referral fee that supports the site. Their results remain separate from official Jackson County and Georgia records, and this site does not set their charges.
